MenB (Meningococcal B) Vaccination for Students Linked to the Kent Outbreak

We are supporting the national public health response to the meningococcal disease outbreak linked to the University of Kent and the Canterbury area.

If you have been offered preventative antibiotics because of this outbreak, you may be eligible for the MenB (Bexsero) vaccine at our practice.
You may be eligible if:

  • You are a student normally living on the University of Kent – Canterbury Campus
  • You are a student at another Canterbury university and were advised to take antibiotics
  • You attended Club Chemistry between 5 and 16 March
  • Your school or UKHSA informed you that you are a close contact

What you need to do:
Please contact reception and tell them you’re calling about the MenB vaccination linked to the Kent outbreak.
Vaccine Schedule

  • Two doses, given 28 days apart

If you develop symptoms of meningitis
Seek urgent medical attention.
