We would like to sincerely apologise for the recent disruption caused by changes to the way prescription requests are submitted. As part of our efforts to provide a more streamlined and safer process, we introduced a method for submitting prescription requests via our website using Accurx Patient Triage forms and closed the previous prescription email account.
Previously, email requests often contained missing information such as the patient’s name, date of birth, and clear medication details. This created delays and increased the risk of medication errors. By using the online form, we can ensure all necessary details are captured, reducing errors and improving patient safety.
Our intention was to make this transition as smooth as possible by displaying an automatic message on the old email account for at least a month, advising patients of the change. Unfortunately, this message dropped off earlier than expected, and the email account closed sooner than planned.
We acknowledge that this caused confusion and inconvenience, and we are truly sorry.
The easiest way to order repeat prescriptions is:
- using your NHS account (through the NHS website or in the NHS App)
This account shows you all your repeat medicine and dosage and you can choose the ones you need.
You can also:
- fill out a repeat prescriptions request form
- bring the paper form to the surgery, when we are open.
We do not take repeat prescription requests over the phone.
Collecting your prescription
You can usually collect your prescription from the pharmacy 3 working days after you have ordered it.
You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:
- on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
- at your GP practice
- at any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions
